About Scouting

It all started when an American named William D. Boyce found himself lost in London, on a foggy day. Then, out of nowhere, a boy walked up to Boyce, and asked if he needed any help. After Boyce told the boy his situation, the boy lead Boyce to where he was supposed to go. Upon arrival, Boyce offered the boy money in return for his services. The boy responded, "No, thank you, sir. I am a Scout. I won't take anything for helping." Impressed about this discovery, Boyce went to see Lord Robert Baden-Powell, who had founded the Boy Scouts in Great Britain. Liking what he heard, Boyce brought the Boy Scouts home with him. On February 8, 1910, Boyce and a group of business men founded the Boy Scouts of America. The BSA formed from one Scout's daily good turn.
