Troop Guide
Job Description

   When you accept the position of Troop Guide, you agree to provide service and leadership in your troop. This responsibility should be fun and rewarding. This job description provides some of the things you are expected to do while serving as a junior leader.

Responsible to: Assistant Scoutmaster- new Scout patrol.
Term of office: 6 months.
Position type: Appointed (by the Scoutmaster).
JLT Training: Yes.
Other: -Life Scout.
          -14 years old.

Duties for the Troop Guide:

  1. Help Scout meet advancement requirements through First Class.
  2. Advise Patrol Leader on his duties and his responsibilities at Patrol Leaders' Council meetings.
  3. Attend Patrol Leader's Council meetings with the new Scout Patrol Leader.
  4. Prevent harassment of new Scouts by older Scouts.
  5. Guide new Scouts through early troop experiences to help them become comfortable in the troop and the outdoors.
  6. Set a good example.
  7. Wear the uniform correctly.
  8. Live by the Scout Oath and Law.
