OA Troop Representative
Job Description

   When you accept the position of OA Troop Representative, you agree to provide service and leadership in your troop. This responsibility should be fun and rewarding. This job description provides some of the things you are expected to do while serving as a junior leader.

Responsible to: ASPL (and works with the OA Troop Representative Adviser and Chapter OA Troop Representative Chairperson).
Term of office: 1 year.
Position type: Appointed.
JLT Training: Yes.
Other: OA Member. (age - BSA youth)

Duties for the OA Troop Representative:

  1. Serve as a communication link between the lodge or chapter and the troop.
  2. Encourage year round and resident camping in the troop.
  3. Encourage older Scout participation in high adventure programs.
  4. Encourage Scouts to actively participate in community service projects.
  5. Assist with leadership skills training in the troop.
  6. Encourage Arrowmen to assume leadership positions in the troop.
  7. Encourage Arrowmen in the troop to be active participants in the lodge and/or chapter activities and to seal their membership in the Order by becoming Brotherhood members.
  8. Set a good example.
  9. Wear the uniform correctly.
  10. Live by the Scout Oath and Law, and the OA Obligation.
