Patrol Leaders' Council

The Patrol Leaders' Council, not the adult leaders, is responsible for planning and conducting the troop's activities. The Patrol Leaders' Council in our troop is composed of the following voting members: Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader and their assistant of each patrol, Troop Guides, Scribe, Quartermaster, Historian, Den Chiefs, OA/Troop Rep, and Librarian.
At its monthly meetings (held at Mr. Gross's house at 7:30 p.m. on the last Thursday of the month), the Patrol Leaders' Council organizes and assigns activity responsibilities for the weekly troop meetings. The Troop Committee interacts with the Patrol Leaders' Council through the Scoutmaster and the Senior Patrol Leader.

Annual Calendar Planning Conference

The troop's activities are selected and planned at the Annual Calendar Planning Conference. This meeting consists of all members of the Patrol Leaders' Council, the Scoutmaster, and the Assistant Scoutmasters, along with any other Scout that wishes to give input.
The conference consists of two sessions; the review session, and the planning session. At the review session, the group looks over what our troop did during the past year, and decide what we want to keep for the up-coming year. Also, people are assigned "homework," which consists of gathering information needed for the next session (school calendar, sports schedules, district and council calendars, etc.). The second session is where the group creates a draft of the calendar for the up-coming year, complete with all information gathered.
After the planning session, the calendar is submitted to the Troop Committee for its support. At this time, the Troop Committee may make any alternative suggestions for the Patrol Leaders' Council to consider.
