To do my duty to God and my country... - To serve God as taught by your family and religious leaders, and respect and defend other people's beliefs, what ever they may be. Also to help the United State of America remain the free nation that we are by learning about the government, and your responsibilities as a citizen and future voter.
and to obey the Scout Law - The twelve points of the Scout Law will lead you to right and fair decisions, and will set a good example for those in your community.
To help other people at all times - Helping others is a way to make the world a better place to live. When one person helps someone, that person will most likely help someone else, and it will continue that way for a very long time.
To keep myself physically strong,... - Eating healthy, sleeping well, and plenty of exercise will help your body keep up with you through your entire life. This also means to stay away form harmful things like drugs or highly dangerous situations.
mentally awake,... - Your learning doesn't stop when the school bell rings. Keep learning new things about the world around you at all times, and you will then appreciate your world and even yourself.
and morally straight. - Standing up for others who are not able do defend themselves; being honest and willing; and being clean in your thinking , speech, and actions will get others to respect you, and ultimately, you will respect yourself for knowing that you can make the right choices.
